Myopic Microcosm (RPG devlog) Chapter Twenty: We Have Our Title...


Hello Everyone,

As you may have guessed, we now have our title. Myopic Microcosm is the name. It fits in with the narratives I've written and I liked it so I'm going with it! We also have some new art to go with the title. In this art I've included some of the best sprites in the game including the main characters and the three dungeon bosses! I've saved the final boss for when you actually play the game as I want there to be something to discover. So with this new title and art, I figured I ought to make a devlog! Twenty devlogs in and we have a title finally! Now for the update.

What's left to do?

  • Code an RPG in 10 days for the beta. 19 for final release
  • Some artwork for the animation of bosses, mini bosses, and one other enemy.
  • Find a few more SFX

So not much...besides the first one. I think it's doable so I'll try my hardest. The one thing that may be hard is dialogue since there will be a good bit of it in the game. I'm working on scraps of it here and there but getting it all done will probably take a few hours. Overall, I'm happy with where I am versus last week so I can't complain. I didn't reach my art finish date but I hit it for music early so it evens out.

Here's the plan moving forward:

  • August 21 - 31: Code my life out to get this game done
  • August 31 - September 9: Debug my life out to get this game released.
  • August 31: Beta Released
  • September 9: Final Release
  • September 9 - future: Possible bug fixes and updates.

As we get closer to launch my motivation goes up and up to get this thing done so I hope that's a good sign!
